CMMISM
stands for Capability Maturity Model Integration. CMMISM
is a process improvement method that provides a set of best
practices that address productivity, performance, costs, and
stakeholder satisfaction. Organizations that want to use common,
integrated, and improving processes for Systems and Software will
find CMMISM to be very useful to achieve their goals. The CMMISM is NOT a set of "bolt-on processes" that last only as long as the wheel is squeaking. CMMISM provides a consistent, enduring framework that accommodates new initiatives. CMMISM facilitates enterprise-wide process improvement, unlike single-discipline models that can result in duplication of work, confusion and higher costs. Process improvement using the CMMISM improves predictability of the critical measures of cost, schedule, performance, and customer satisfaction. How Do You Want to Work? Option 1: · Random motion – lots of energy, not much progress · No teamwork – individual effort · Frequent conflict · You never know where you’ll end up Or Option 2: Working with CMMI: · Directed motion – every step brings you closer to the goal · Coordinated efforts · Cooperation · Predictable results Impact: Cost Benefit Analysis of CMMI
